Lecture: Getting your vegetable garden stared with Andrea Grace 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This program will introduce participants to the basics of starting a vegetable garden in Southwest Florida and will discuss how to utilize our extra-long growing season. Topics that will be covered are the supplies necessary and where to get them, how to prepare your garden beds, how to plant and care for vegetable seeds and the similarities in seed families, what is appropriate for direct seeding versus transplanting, along with appropriate timing to get the most bang out of your garden.
